two o one eight

Goodbye 2017, Hi 2018.

I hope I'm not too late to wish all of you happy new year! 2017 has been a roller coaster yet wonderful year for me. I've turned into someone I thought I never would. In a better way. I am also so grateful for what I have today. Alhamdulillah.
Summing up my own :
shiedascarves Aurora and Boldflora collection launched, trip to Penang with housemates, last year as Course representative, met Prof Simon from UK to discuss about student problem, chosen as dodgeball and netball player, went for an Entrepreneurship panel discussion, invited to Urban Decay and Sunsilk Malaysia new product launched, celebrated my 21st birthday with my housemate with my fav theme and perfect place, got good result for my second year exams, my Raya Honey Cornflakes business got good responses, first time Raya with complete GSS8 team (Dini finally joined us), my fav cousins (Kak Ila and Along) engaged, Kak Diba and Kak Syafie graduated, I started wearing braces, been chosen as Nottingham Student Ambassador & President of Nutrition Club, my first time touch a cat, invited to join World Fashion Week, first time joined color run, abah's new business project launched, my first bollywood night, I started my blog, I moved into new house with housemates, I lose some weight and I survived with my broken hand!

But you all probably know everything above actually! I posted almost everything on social medias especially my instagram.

What you probably don't know what happened in my 2017- The bad memories:

said a lot of goodbyes, I lost my atuk on January 2017,  I had a heartbroken, facing some rejections (my business), the pain that I facing during my broken hand, met some bad people, making hard decisions, letting go some people, caring that 'happy-go-lucky'girl nickname when I'm actually not, worked so hard and save a lot of money (until reached the level of starving myself just to save money) to collect capital for my own business., my car broke at the middle of the highway & car got ruptured.

People always said, it is easy for me to buy this and that, go here and there because I have money from my business. There is one time when someone told me to change my phone and car because it is too old (Iphone 4s) (Proton Saga), it really breaks my heart. If they knew and understand how struggle I am to save money and how meaningful my 'old' car and phone to me. My phone and my car contributed A LOT to me since I have nothing. So, hello, ingat senang ke nak tukar je?
It is that sentimental things that not all and probably no people would understand. Something that I appreciate so much, something that so hard for me to let go even when I supposed to.

But, you know what the good things that I learnt from all the bad memories. I learnt how to not give up easily. I learnt to say no and be firm with my decision. I become stronger day by day and I got a lot of experience throughout my life journey. I learnt to appreciate every single little things like my family and my friends, my most biggest supporter. I am beyond grateful to have them in my life. I learnt to love and appreciate myself more. I've learnt to be confident and move on faster with everything that disappointing me.

To sum up, 2017 is the year of whole lot ups and downs for me. Not only me, but I believe to everyone also. My mom got admitted to hospital for a week, my dad faced a big problem with his business, my sister got betrayed by her friend, some companies experienced bankruptcy, some houses or institute burned and some people lost their beloved family. There were a lot untoward and unexpected incidents happened to everyone everyday. I'm not sure if everyone of you experienced any of these. But if you do, remember that everything happened for a reason. It is either to make you stronger or to make you realize any mistakes that you have done before that you never knew. Remember that you are not alone, everyone has their own struggle. There is someone that facing something even worst. Learnt to be grateful and try to solve the problems instead of keep complaining.

The utmost lesson I learnt from 2017 is to appreciate and be positive. Appreciate everything that God already gave to me. My family, my friends, my health and even my whole perfect body. I learnt so many things when my hand broke, I realise that my hand is actually the biggest nikmat that Allah gave but I always overlooked and forgot to bersyukur for it until the unexpected accident hit me. It is not the end of the world anyway, I can still use my left hand to do works. I also learnt to be positive towards people. Even when sometimes they had done bad thing towards me, that doesn't mean that they are totally a bad person. There must be another good side of them that I never realised. Try to search and look at the good side of them instead of quickly labeling them.

2018, I can't see what the future holds for me. But surely, the new year will see a better me. With all the experienced and lessons I learnt in 2017, I am ready to face the new challenges and happiness that wait for me on this new year. I pray and hope that 2018 would be an amazing year for me and for all of us.

Before I ended my post, I would like to wish, again.
Happy New Year everyone! 💕

Forever Runs

Past two months, I joined a run event organised by Mara German Malaysian Institute in Bangi. It was a 5km run started from 7am till 11am. That was my first run event of this year after a looooooong break since summer. That place was a huge space with less trees and many stalls and I already can imagine how hot the weather I'm gonna bear with.

Me, and my other 4 housemates depart from our house in Semenyih after Subh. Semenyih and GMI is quite near, our journey was about 15mins to arrive there. When we arrived, there were so many cars and people and most of them are Malay students. After parked my car, we went straight to the registration counter and they gave us shirt, milo, gardenia sambal bilis bread and mineral water. Since we were wearing our own shirt, we had to change it to the provided shirt. The place was quite huge that took some of our time to search the toilet.

Right after we changed our shirt, warming up session started. I sweat a lot during the session because the movement was quite vigorous with some Japanese songs. The theme was Raku-raku run which I don't know what is the meaning. I do know raku is six in Japanese but its kinda weird when translated to English which is "six-six run" haha whatever. So yeah, everything was in Japanese.

It took half an hour for the warming up session and then we started to run. During the run, there were some obstacles for us to get through. Splashed by water and color powders (again). Luckily I left my watch and phone at the campus before run.

It was damn scorching hot.You can't imagine how happy I was when I saw the 5km mark. I was already tired and sweaty and thirsty. All I wanted was just that freaking medal, certificate and finish quickly so that I can sit down and drink under a big tree.

By the time I arrived the finishing line, it was at 9am. Not really crowded. The vip gave me medal and one of my friend that do not join us for the run took some of my pictures. I grabbed my mineral water and sit down waiting for the others.

After that, there were also lucky draw and price ceremony session for the selfie competition. I'm not taking any selfie while running because i did not bring my phone so no price for me. Knowing that I always have no luck for the lucky draw session, then decided to just go back home. I was exhausted when I got home and immediately sleep after I showered and Zuhr prayed. Woke up with sore body and legs in the afternoon to perform my Asr prayer. Gosh it took 3days for me to fully recover from the sore.

Thats all, till the next post! x

First and LAST

I am a huge fan of Bollywood. You will have no idea how crazy I am towards bollywood. And if you are the same too, then if you watch Mohabbatein at the celebrating Holi Day's part, you are going to feel super WANTED to play this color powder exactly same like the scene in the movie. I've always imagine myself playing this color powder with my friends with bollywood songs around, dancing and having fun. But always got no chance to do so!

Few months ago, the SA students organised a color run event. I knew about this event last minute LITERALLY ON THAT DAY. I wanna join the event so badly but I HAVE NO WHITE SHIRT. So, I just letting go this event with heavy heart.

That day after I finished my work, suddenly, my phone rang, Nureen called me :

'Shieda, wanna join the color run?'
'Oh damn yass!,but how?'
'Call hisham, beg him haha'
'haha ok hold on'

and hisham allowed us but we need to wear our own shirt, no shirt provided.

Sooo, we were so damn excited when arrived! The place was clean at first, we played some games which a bit boring because the game was repeated for idk how many times! ugh guys can we just start playing the color powder?! few minutes passed, an announcement was made saying that everyone can start taking the powder and splash it everywhere! Music on!!! We played like damn crazy and suddenly out of nowhere someone splash the powder on my face and THAT POWDER GET INSIDE MY NOSE ARGH IT HURTS! I keep blowing my nose and the mucous was out and it was in colorful!  Wow cantik la haha. Okay okay, I was panicked and blow again for few times. Thanks god nothing bad happens! phew.

We played, took some pictures, having some fun until my friend called me that she already wanted to use her car back urgently! Yaaa, my was car broke so I have to borrow her car that day. I told her that I wanted to use her car to go to the gym, bcs i know that she will not allowed me to use it if she knew that I actually wanted to play the color powder bcs its not really good sistur playing those things in Maghrib. I actually went to the gym okay just for awhile la but still going tho haha so thats consider I'm not lying haha. We immediately go back and when I arrived home, the car WAS FULLY COVERED WITH COLORS! Omg and my friend was on her way to took her car back. We were sooooo nervous, we struggled cleaning the car at the middle of the night, it was so dark at that time and we only use our handphone torchlight. Have not had enough time to clean the car, my friend was up. She was surprised and I can see that she was a bit upset. I apologised and promised her that I'll bring her car to workshop and clean her car tomorrow.

Worsen the situation, I totally forgot that I've promised with Aina to send our friend to airport on that night and I was already LATE! Plan changed, Aina came to my house instead of I fetch her from her house with the other car and Anis accompany me. My face and body and all was scribbled with colors but whose care I was already late! I change my shirt to Anis's abaya and change my tdung with Anis's shawl haha Thanks nis! My life saver!

Hardest part, I went to airport with colors on my face bcs it is so damn hard to washed off. I tried to wash by cleanser, doesnt work, with makeup remover, still same, vaseline, STILL SAME! People staring at me and asking same question, "what happened to your face' but haih its okay. Friends and promises matter.

My expectation was really opposite with what had happened with the reality. After that event, I keep telling myself 'taubat dah don't want to play lagi fuhhh.'

I looked like an alien haha

Summer summer

Ambassadors and staffs
Wuw finally got some time to blog. I should've blogged more this month since so many things happened in my life for every seconds but never thought that my summer gonna be so hectic just like this. Okay for this post, remember my previous blog that I told you I have an interesting program that I'm gonna join? The ambassador things? Yup, I just finished it few weeks ago (I know I should've blogged it earlier than today but who knows I still have another works to settled so yeah) *excuses excuses* 😒

The program was happened for a week but I'm not gonna blog all 7 days details bcs i don't want it to be a long boring essay haha. The first day, I was in charged to do the pick up task at KLIA with Farah and our tour guide, Ms. Aisha. We depart from campus at 7am luckily I managed to prepare myself earlier on that day fuh. It was a great time in the bus bcs abg syafiq, the driver played some bollywood songs (which are all my fav songs!) until we reached our destination. We waited them at the arrival hall about half an hour and they came with a big number of students plus teachers total about 100++. It was hectic at first but thanks god all of them were very good and they obey all our instructions till we brought them to our campus.

On the second day, nothing much happens since they already started their classes but we still need to handle them and make sure all of them are going to the class. (some are so stubborn that they skipped the class 😒). In the afternoon, we have an icebreaking session which was handled by me and I played BINGO game with them. They were very enjoyed the game! Piuhhh luckily they never played this game before so, that was something new for them even its a lame game in our campus haha. At night, we have a very amazing dinner and we have dancers from academy... something I forgot the company's name. They did a very GOOD and NICE performances! I tried the bamboo dance for the first time and didn't expect that I'm such a fast learner in dancing tho *flip shawl* haha The food, okay this another one more thing, THE FOOD WAS FREAKING AMAZING omg like really GOOD! Not only during the dinner, even for the 7days straight breakfasts and lunchs! I can tell you that my one whole week was spent with really great meals!

The third and fifth days, we spent our time doing outings. Day forth nothing much, just classes as usual. We roamed around putrajaya and I was really surprised that actually there are still a lot of interesting place that I never ever heard before! Even the cruise, I don't even know that we have cruise in putrajaya. oh what a Malaysian. *should travel more then* We also went to Batu Caves and guess what, Me, Aina, Jahnani and Farah went up and down with the 272 stairs in 12minutes! Proved! We should join the sprint competition in SeaGames tho haha. Actually, we were not allowed to went up since we have limited time. But me being me, stubborn and rebellious, persuading them to went up together so when I got scolded at least not being scolded alone haha. But, who knows, we did that very fast, 6mins went up, took some pictures (actually this was the purpose haha!), went down in 6mins. Cool right? haha.

We also went to Mid Valley and Ioi Putrajaya mall, boring place. But for them, that was their #shoppingheavenplace so we let them shopped and we all do our own things. I accompanied Aina with her bowling games. Last time I played bowling when I was 17 and it has been almost 5 years I did not play bowling, so it kinda awkward to handle the ball and i forgot the way to throw it. So, maybe I should start to play it again next time *when I'm totally have some free time*. While the other ambassadors doing some shopping and watch some movies. There was this one good horror movie, Annabelle but Me and Aina has promised to watch it together with Aida so we refrained ourselves and wait until that day.

Next would be the last event which was again, the dinner! The farewell dinner and omg the dinner was again, so amazing! This time, the dancers and performers were all from the students itself! They dance and sang their countries' songs. Last part from the event, the DJ played all hindi and indian songs and we all dance like crazy including the staffs and teachers too! even the VIPs! haha It was so fun!

Ok, so the next morning, we help them to settle down their checkout and everything and we accompanied them to the bus and saying our last goodbye to them. Oh thanks god they finally went back. haha! ok ok I'm kidding haha! Nawh of course I felt sad. Before they went back, they said sorry and hugged me and say thanks to me for everything. I'm so touched! and Alhamdulillah that they actually appreciate everything and happy with what I have done. Well, sometimes, we just need patience and time to build the bond between those new people. Not all of them are an easy going persons but at the end, with patience, sincerity and kindness they will realize and appreciate it. From this program, I also learnt about tolerating and understanding each other especially among our teammates. This real value will actually help to make this program a success 😌

So that's all from this post! Here are some pictures of the program :

Old Folks

Last month Dr Soma, Diana and Pui Yee (PHD student), me and other internees were visited Desa Amal Jireh and Persatuan Rumah Caring Kajang for our internship program. Oh and firstly, our internship program called Go Gold Project which 'Gold' means "Emas" which also means, "Warga Emas". So our project is going to the old folks, observing theirs nutritional status and give some advice or do something to help them improve their health quality. It took two weeks for the visits. We started the day off by gathering at campus and carpooled together to the old folks. I went in Dr Soma's car and the trip was going so fun as this is my first time going convo-style with those people especially my lecturer, Dr Soma.

When we arrived there, I was really blur and know nothing to do since I am the first timer (this was also my FIRST internship program). Glad that Dr Soma following us to guide and do all the registration things. After done registered ourselves, the manager brought us to their room and gave us a book of list of their details.Upon entering the door of the old folks room, all of them were stared at us. Its a bit scary but we managed to get along with them after few minutes. We explained about our intention on visiting them and we do some activities with them. They were so happy and enjoy each activities!  The activities were not only to observe their speed, stability and nutritional status but it also enable them to do some exercise to help them feel a bit fresh and active. Its like killing two birds with a stone work hehe.

Dealing with the old folks really needs a lot of patience and gentle. Not all of them are the same. Some of them would really listen to you, some of them would very stubborn do not want to do anything, some of them would getting very hyper and some of them would angry and bad mood to you out of nowhere. But with kindness and patience, they'll slowly learn to be comfortable with you. It took some time for us to deal with their attitude but glad that we managed to handle them. We also observe their nutritional status and found most of them are having diabetes, obesity and bone problems.  It is more sad when their own children do not care about them. Some of them have been staying at the institution for almost 15 years. Some of them also told us that they really miss their children but they cannot and do not know how to contact them. Sigh. It really breaks my heart.

The Gold bow for our project

The machine that we used to measure their nutritional status

Did not managed to take many pictures since we were too busy spending time with them

I learnt a lot from the visit. I'm the one that in charged to key in all their data and I realised how blessed I am after I met them who have much less than I do. Most of them are having serious diseases. The worst, they not only less in health, but also less in love. Always remember to thank Allah for what He given to you. I also learnt, happiness is not only about wealth, money, status but its about love. Not everyone in this world are lucky to get all the happiness. I pray Allah gives them the best in the hereafter, if not in this world. I pray Allah to keep me away from the neglect and forgetfulness of parents' deed. I also pray Allah to keep my parents and me (when I'm getting older) away from such diseases. Amin.

After spending hours with them, we had to go home. We were very sad to leave them and they were also felt the same way. Everyone of them keep telling us to come back visit them when we have free time. We were also happy at the same time since they really enjoy every seconds with us. It was definitely would be an unforgettable experience with them.
